My name is Allana Doherty and I am currently studying Psychology at the University of Strathclyde.
I began volunteering with Traction Cancer Support in 2019 and have enjoyed and valued every moment with them!
I came across the volunteering opportunity on Volunteer Glasgow and was immediately engaged with the service that Traction provided for people with aerodigestive tract cancers.
I am very passionate about volunteering especially in areas of the health and social sector and enjoy meeting people and building relationships throughout these different experiences.
As a volunteer for Traction I have helped with raising awareness for the charity itself through my University and local hospitals.
My current position within Traction is to run our LinkedIn page. Here I will be posting news and updates regularly, in addition to sharing some relevant research and news articles that may be of interest to all!
I am very grateful to be part of the Traction team and look forward to assisting them in communicating their core value of wellbeing.
Moyra Peffer is our volunteer dealing with marketing the work of Traction in Scotland.
After a career in Corporate Communications, in both private and public sectors, Moyra also ran her own PR consultancy for 15 years, based in Glasgow.
Hobbies include playing golf and walking in the countryside.
